A New Name?

You may have noticed a new name on the front of our building. You may be wondering, “What’s that about?”

 

Colby Drive Bible Chapel was built in Colby Village in the mid 1980’s and had that name until the summer of 2018. However, from many conversations our church members were having with friends and visitors, we realized many people had no idea that a “Bible Chapel” is simply a church. Some people thought it was some sort of exclusive Bible club. Some thought it was a strange cult. People did not know we were a church that was open to the public and welcomed anyone to come to our services any Sunday.

 

Therefore, in the summer of 2018, our church membership voted to change our name from Colby Drive Bible Chapel to Colby Community Church. We want everyone to know that we are a church that welcomes anyone interested in learning more about God, Jesus or faith!

 

We also decided to call ourselves a “Community” Church because we love Cole Harbour and hope to be a valuable part of this community. We want to serve our community, we want to be a place of hope and joy in our community, and we hope to help those in it become all God has created them to be.

 

So, Colby Community Church is a church for all to come to, and we welcome you!
